• Adverse report on Passport

Hi Sir,
I applied for a Tatkal passport, used the same for applying for a UK visa, and later during police verification got to know that it has an adverse report on my passport. I have all the documents from(birth certificate, Aadhaar, Pan, ITR, electricity bill, etc). After going to RPO, I was told that my application was categorized as Nationality doubtful as I was not able to provide enough credentials for my father(my father holds an Indian passport which expired in 2010, and my brother currently works in Qatar on a working visa as an Indian National ). The police officer had written that my credentials are ok, and my father's native place's inquiry should be done !

Although re-verification is, it is taking too much time, my certificate of sponsorship will expire if I plan to wait till then.

In the mseva portal, it shows my CURRENT STATUS as PASSPORT DISPATCHED and SCN TYPE: PVR REVIEW and SCN STATUS : PENDING DISPATCH FROM PO! I

In this scenario, if I plan to travel to UK, will I be stopped at immigration? I haven't received any show cause notice yet !

You can travel to UK and would not be stopped by immigration as no show cause notice has been received yet

You may have to wait for show cause notice to arrive at your address or you can visit the passport office directly in person and get the things clarified. You may not be allowed to travel abroad without the clearance from passport office.

- As per rule , the police may submit an adverse report in the following cases:

1.If they do not find you at home when they come for physical verification

2. If your place of birth doesn’t match with your current address

3 If they are not satisfied with any of your documents

- Since your police report is showing that your credentials are ok , with the remark that your fathers native places inquiry should be done, and that is the reason why there is adverse report

- However, if the passport already issued to you , then you can travel to abroad , and the further verification will continue by the competent authority in your absence.

- Hence, you cannot be stopped at immigration , as your enquiry is completed .

- It is suggested to approach the passport officer personally for removing your doubt.

Dear Client,

It is better to resolve the issue before you leave the country in order to avoid any inconvenience in the future. Provide the authorities with proper documents and request them to speed up the process.

You need to contact the police station regarding the report. If same is minor issue it will not be a problem but if major issue then there may have problems at airport

Yes you will be stopped at Immigration.

Immigration officials are very strict in terms of documentation.

Kindly await for the re-verification to get complete.

As per the mseva portal your current status as Passport Dispatched means, you should receive it in few days.

Generally it takes around 7 days for Passport to get it delivered once it's dispatch
