• Passport Renewal issue

I came to India for my US visa stamping where consulate declared my passport as damaged. I had to start entire passport renewal process in tatkal. I got my passport in hand a very next day of my passport renewal visit, it is approved as post police verification based. Not after 3 weeks of reviewing police sent adverse report on my file as I dont stay on my residential address and staying since a month as I travelled from US. I am checking with RPO although the entire process is slow and taking time. My question is can I drop my passport to visa consulate meanwhile I deal with RPO? Also can I travelled with adverse report on my file? Please advise.

Under U.S. Code Any 1182 (6) (c) (i) any alien who, by fraud or willfully misrepresenting a material fact, seeks to procure (or has sought to procure or has procured) a visa, other documentation, or admission into the United States or other benefit provided is inadmissible. Unless, adverse police remark is cleared, it will amount misrepresentation. It is better to seek proper remedy against such remark first and than approach of visa.

Apply for re verification of passport

PO needs to get a clear police report from the re-verification, for issue of a passport
On receipt of a clear report from the police, your file will be processed further for issue of a passport.

Dear Client,

if police has filed adverse report and still you have received the passport then you may travel abroad.

If you have received a show cause notice from the passport authority, it becomes your duty to give a proper reply to convince the authorities concerned that why this report was furnished and your explanation to it.

you are advised to take online inquiry appointment and submit previous/permanent address.

If the report comes out as adverse then your passport will be cancelled. So do not ignore. Please do get ignore this as your passport can be cancelled at later stages as your address has still not been verified which is the prerequisite for issuance of passport.

You may have to clear the issue pending before the passport office with regard to the observation made by them or else they may inform the immigration department who will stop you from travelling abroad with the defective passport.

- If you have already issued the passport on Tatkal basis , then you can travel abroad , and can be resolved that issue with the help of consulate in that country.

- However, if you are in India , then you can take appointment from the passport authority to know the exact reason of adverse report , and can also re-verified your the police report with the help of police official.
