• Regarding right to install CCTV of other person

I m rashmi. I own a house. We are fighting a false Domestic Violence case. For our security we have installed CCTV inside my house and outside so that my daughter in law cannot put false claims.

Now my daughter in law is trying to install CCTV camera for herself inside house so that she can put eye on us every second. Can a daughter in law who dont have any right to property in my house have any right to install CCTV camera inside house without my permission?

Can i say no to the cctv person or to the daughter in law?

Can daughter in law call police and can the police pressurize us to allow her to installl cctv ?

She keeps on saying that this house is her also and she can do whatever she want to so in house ? Is it true ?

She have a habbit of calling police again on again. Is there any law under property law or landlord law under which i can say NO to cctv ?

CCTV cameras can only be installed by tge owner of the house. Nobody else. There is no ambiguity in this. Flatly refuse any CCTV camera person that he cannot install the cameras as the house belongs to you. File an application before the court in case she tries any illegal tactics.

If this house property belong to you then you can ask your son to get out of the house along with his wife.

You can issue a legal notice to your son to vacate the house since it would not be tolerable having him and his wife at home which constantly disturbs your peace and health at this age.

As long as your son is in that house, she will enjoy the residential rights in the property because it is her matrimonial home.

As a matter of fact it is not advisable to fix a CCTV surveillance camera inside the house becasue it can be considered as an act invading the privacy of the household members.

Dear Client,

As per the facts provided, she can not install any CCTV camera inside the house as you are the owner of the house and you have the right to privacy. You can file a complaint against her for breaching your privacy.

Thank You

She can't. As she is not the owner. Only owner of property can do that.
