Marriage registered with Indian embassy abroad has same value as one done in india
marriageability certificate is certificate that you are un married as on date
Hi. I would like to get some clarification on Marriageability Certificate issued in Punjab. Is it a Certificate of No objection for marriage? It is needed for registering marriage in Italian Municipal Office. Also, does the marriage registered in the Indian Embassy abroad has the same value as the one done in India? This burocracy is so confusing. I would be really thankful to you for clarifications.

The marriage eligibility certificate issued by Punjab Government is not a NOC. It is a confirmation of your marital status.;
The marriage registered in Indian embassy at the country of your current residence has the same value of having registered your marriage in India before a marriage registrar of your jurisdiction;
If you are marrying a foreign citizen then your marriage would be registered under special marriage act, 1954
Yes it will have same validity if registered under Act valid in India. Like foreign mariage Act etc. Otherwise it will not have acceptability
If your marriage was conducted according to Sikh rites and registered in India, the certificate of marriage issued by the Marriage Registrar shall hold good in Italy also. You may get it attested by our Indian embassy/Consulate in Italy, if required.
1. Marriageability Certificate is the certificate whish certifies that the person holding the certificate is legally able to enter in to marriage.

Dear client,
it is not a certificate of no objection. The marriage registered in the Indian Embassy holds the same value as the one done in India under The Special Marriage Act.
