• Background verification for govt bank job

I was involved in playing cards case and was fined for 300 rupees 7 years before in Andhrapradesh . Now I got a job opportunity in respectable government bank as PO. Does having a record for paying fine for above situation jeopardize my job opportunity? Even, after I join job could I be terminated if they ever come to know about this. Please give me clarification about this. If something needs to be done to avoid this. Please suggest me. Thanks in advance.

In my opinion,  no such record for petty offence is maintained by the police station. However,  in a ruling of SC in 2015, it is held a physical sport.

However, only precaution is to keep your mouth shut.  Your  inner voice is your own enemy  no one else.  Keep safe yourself  from you only.  Sorry for harsh words.   Go-ahead.

This is a petty case which as disposed off with the fine amount alone.

Hence it may not reflect in the police verification report  eve if your employer i seeking verification report about character and antecedents of the candidates

Further, the incident is reported to have taken place very long ago, hence the police lso may not preserve such records for all these years.

Better you do not disclose this case to anyone.

These fines cannot be a hindrance in your joining. Go ahead and join the bank.

It would not jeopardise your job opportunity

2) you would not be terminated as you were merely fined for playing cards which is minor offence

For petty issues like this your Job will not be under scrutiny.

You have been fined for Rs. 300 and no imprisonment. It is been 7 years from that incident also.

If you have that CHALLAN copy with you, just in case  the organisation inquires about the incident just produce it without any hesitation. But that will not effect your job if you don't hesitate.

Seven years has been passed, whenever they will come or you fill any verification form , please don't mention the act, as the same has now become un-accountable for any adverse action.

Dear Sir/ Madam

Your job won't be affected by the above situation, because the event happened seven years ago and the case was closed after paying the fine.  You will not be terminated if they come to know about this after joining.

Only conviction for offence involving moral turpitude will have adverse impact on job. Offence like playing cards, traffic violations and offences of accidents will not impact government  jobs.  There is no any chance of payment  of fine reflecting on your job.

-  Legally , such offence is considered as Petty offence .

- Further, Petty offenses are not classified as criminal offenses and are quasi-criminal violations.

- Further, if a criminal complaint is pending it may affect your career unless it is withdrawn or quashed.

- Further, if you are convicted of a criminal petty offense or a misdemeanor, whether by trial or a guilty plea, you will have a criminal record

- Since, it was a petty offence and you have paid fines imposed by the court without a trail , then it will not effect your career , and it is not mandatory to mention therein for the same.
