It's illegal to pursue 2 different DL in 2 states of same nature. You can have 2 different DL for 2 wheeler and 4 Wheeler if required. 

In case any driver has more than one driving license, issued from different states, then traffic police can impose fines.

you will need to travel to your home town to add geared two wheeler class on your licence 

Grant of license or making of any modification therein is sole duty of the concerned RTO.

Since to make modification in the existing licence you need to travel to WB, its advisable that you apply for a fresh 2 wheeler license from your present place of residence. 

Get your DL transfer to Karnataka on line and then get it amended for the purpose.

There will be no issues at all and you are suggested to go ahead. 

You can obtain from your current place. Fresh license will issue and not addition in present license.

You can hold 2 license, one for four vehicle another for 2.

You can have 2 from different state. Will not merge.

- As per law, in case any driver has more than one driving license, issued from different states, then traffic police can impose fines. 

- Further, now every driving license will have a smart chip, which can be accessed via QR Code, where every information of the driver , like name, address, blood group, history of past traffic violations etc will be stored in this chip, which can be quickly accessed by a bar code reader, used by the traffic cops.

- Hence, legally you cannot have two DL now. 

You can apply for a two wheeler licence separately in Bangalore even now following the requisite formalities in this regard.

The existing licence is for four wheeler and has nothing to do with the 2 wheeler licence.

You may contact any driving school for this purpose and arrange to get the desired licence through them.

The licence issued in Bangalore is also valid through out India similar to the licence issued by the West Bengal state.

If you want to merge both the licences at a later point of time, you can follow the procedures meant for it at that time, of course it is possible.

You apply fresh DL in Bangalore Karnataka for 2 and 4 wheeler as soon as the lockdown is over on or before 31st August 2020.

While applying fresh license, Please mention you have 2 wheeler license issued by West Bengal. 

Now central Government has suspended renewal and issuance of fresh license till 31st December 2020 and validated renewal of all licenses till 31st December 2020.

No problem, you can have two and four license from two different RTO offices. 

Yes those can be merged 

You can apply for a driving  license anywhere in the state you live in. 

no problem go ahead, If you want to merge, you need to get NOC from issuing RTO. 

A license can be made for a motor vehicle with gear in the state where you are staying. Both are of different nature and hence can co exist.

There can be 2 different licenses as they pertain to different class of vehicles. You may merge them later on.

Subject to the decision of RTO of the area you can ,later on can after surrendering one can apply to issue one at the station you want, so contact with them immediately.

You cannot get two driving license from two different states it can be an offence to have two DLs you may have to face penalty for having two DLs. 

You can get the driving license from both the state though the same is not mandatory.
