• False accusing of sending obscene pictures on watsapp

I called a Ayurvedic treatment center for enquiring about Migrane treatment last week, the call was over in less than 5 mins.

I got a called from a doctor from that center today stating that I had sent obscene pictures to her which shocked me from the core. There is no head and tail to this. She was continuously screaming and saying that police will call me.

I got a call from a number on which a man was speaking pretending to be a police(I searched internet and got to know that the number is from se ayurvedic center) he kept giving me threats that there is no bail to this crime, which is ridiculous as I don't have a bit clue what is it all about.

I told him she is mistaken and may be she can verify the number if it is really me, I told her I can meet her with my wife and lawyer to prove that it's not me. Latter she mellowed down and started talking nicely and told me to forget it.

I am little worried and not sure what to do next, as this quite disturbing to me.

You may just ignore it if she has realised her mistake.

In fact it is a case of a mistaken identity which will not carry forward.

Don't pursue the matter anymore until she reverts with similar incident.

If at all she repeats the same mistake then you may issue a legal notice warning her of stern action for her illegal  action which can be understood for a possible extortion.

You should draft a complaint and file it with the cyber crime cell immediately. If you have the recording it's even better. Apprise them of the situation and ask them to register your complaint against these persons.

These are merely tactics to extort money from you

2) you have not committed any offence

3) you should record threats received by you

4) it would help you in case any false cases are filed against you

1. The center is a gang of goons which extorts money from people by laying such traps.

2. Do not communicate any further with them.

3. File a police complaint against them immediately.

This is crook business and a honey trap as well.

So do not entertain at all.

if you have not sent any obscene picture then there is no need to panic either.

So first block this number and if this type of blackmailing call continues then lodge a complaint with local police station for a case of extortion.

This would suffice to deal with the situation.

1. You should lodge FIR against that ayurvedic center as they trying to blackmail you by threatening you for false case against you.

2. They can threat you again at any point of time in future for sending obscene images or texts to that fake doctor.

3. They harassed you enough as you were strong enough that you didn't fall for the trap so it would be better if you complaint against them

This Is an attempt to blackmail. Might this is not a Ayurvedic treatment center. Better you should file FIR of criminal intimidation and extortion.
