1. YES .... it is possible, Visit the Taluka Tahsil office alongwith the Survey no., Gat no., Village name and Original name.  Request for Certified copies of Land Revenue documents from 1950 onwards, for the specific survey numbers.

2. IF Tamil Nadu has computerized Land Revenue records, THEN you can search online on their website.

Dear Sir,

Just file an RTI application seeking ownership details of your Land/Property from the local Govt office( Tehsildar/Collector/Municipality etc). They will give Photocopies of the ownership records(Title deeds/7/12 extracts etc etc).

Thereafter file an FIR with a local Police station that you have lost the Original papers( if you have not already done) of the said property.

Thereafter armed with a copy of the FIR , approach & apply to the relevant authorities( Tehsildar/Collector etc) for issue of duplicate ownership papers to you.

You may check the details online in the TN Registration Dept's official website. Also, check the revenue records at the Tahsildar's Office.

Contact your local authority if you have any doubts or issues with regards to the land survey number. To check if there any discrepancies, cross verify the land survey number mentioned on the sale deed and the property tax bill.

You first get an encumbrance certificate in which the document number and the nature of transaction to encumber the property will be found.

With the available details you may pursue the matter with the revenue department for further desired details.

The release deed should specify which property with the boundaries and extent to be mentioned unless there will be a dispute about which property and to what extent it was relinquished by the cosharers.

The online date may not be available beyond certain period of time, you may have to obtain manual data from the land revenue department of your Tehsil.

The original document which has the mention about the schedule of properties to be made available for all registered transactions in respect of the immovable properties.

See in release deed the share of the person has to be calculated and mentioned based on same only stamp duty is applicable. Also if area is not mentioned it can be disputed.

See based on the land record and patta available deed can be made.
