• Possibility of change in date of birth at the age of 26 years

My original date of birth is 27th April 1993. My school wrote it wrongly as 24th April 1993. It's been 12 years since I am carrying forward the same mistake without an objection. I've submitted it in my CBSE marksheets, Delhi University, IGNOU, Banks, ROC, Income Tax, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport, Life insurance etc. Is there a possibility to change it everywhere? It is very important for me as it is very depressing when everyone I know always have confusion about my DOB and it makes me remind of what my teacher did when I was in class 10th. I have no problem in trying even of there is 10% chance.

You can change the same through an affidavit and paper publication if required by putting on record the correct document. Or you can approach court for a declaration in the said matter as what is your correct date

It can be done without much hassle. You will have to approach civil court having jurisdiction by way of a suit for declaration in order to get the same done. After getting the order from the port you can approach all the authorities to get your your date of birth changed in all your documents.

Do you have birth certificate which reflects your actual date of birth? Kindly clarify

2) you will have to apply to  regional passport office for reissue of passport to reflect your actual date of birth

3) you will have to file writ in HC to direct CBSE to change your date of birth in school leaving certificate

If you want to change the date of birth at this stage, then you may have to first submit an application to the registrar of births and deaths or the corporation authorities or the competent authority within your jurisdiction from where you took birth.

If the date of birth as per birth certificate is the actual DOB as you state then it is not necessary tht you should approach the competent authority, instead you may have to approach court with a suit for declaration, to declare the correct date of birth as p[er the birth certificate.

However even if you gt the judgment in your favor yo may not be able to make correction in the educational certificates at this stage.

But you can change the date of birth in all other documents namely aadhar card, pan card and other relevant documents

It is really very difficult if you have the certificate in this regard the same certificate will be submitted to CBSE board for correcting your date of birth and based on those records you have to file youth correction in different documents it is a long process and will take lot of time but the starting point is CBSE where you have to start the correction and you have to end up doing correction in your passport and Aadhar cards

1. Such mistakes ought to be rectified the moment they are discovered.

2. Now you will require a court order to change it. Of course it can be changed.

NO, on the contrary you intently carried forward this mistake by obtaining all govt. document with same DOB. What is DOB in birth certificate.

If 27th April than you are going to face issues in future if anywhere you need to submit your BC.

Any change possible by High Court direction but court will take you relentlessly, for your delay in correction.

Dear Sir,

Yes, possible. But, you have to justify that the date you propose to change to is your real date of birth with necessary proof. Usually, there cannot be a better proof than the DoB certificate once issued, unless there happens to be gross difference between the age mentioned in the DoB and the subsequent discovery with substantial proof that the age of the person is far less or more than the registered one.

Change of DoB requires a judicial process, i.e., making an affidavit, paper publication, submission of valid proof of the DoB you wish to change to, etc., for which you have to engage a good lawyer.

You go as per your birth certificate date and not as per school leaving certificate. Just show every time your birth certificate to them. And anyhow you can't change now your DOB on school certificate.

No you cannot make changes after delay of 12 years because limitation for rectification of mistake is 10 years from date of declaration of results.

you have to file a suit against the CBE board and seek an order against them to rectify the date of birth, only after a decree they will carry out necessary correction in the marks card.
