Change of Date of Birth
I have a date of Birth issue on the passport. My original DOB is 4/8/1970 and the printed DOB on Passport is 4/9/1970. The last passport was renewed in November 2011 and all the earlier passports issued were done through the Agents and i do not know what documents were submitted then. Regards, Peter

Dear Sir,
The following are the documents required to change the date of birth on Indian passport:
- Original Passport with the correct date of birth
- An amendment issued by any competent authority, like Municipal authorities or Education Board authority
- A court order issued by a judicial officer of the 1st Class Magistrate or above

You may apply for the change of your date of birth as per your educational record you have to provide your birth certificate in case it is available otherwise the high school certificate and marksheet will be taken as the basic records to verify your date of birth and everything is fine then your date of birth will be changed by the passport office
No big deal, separate forms are available for correction of details in passport. Attach birth certificate with it.
Dear Sir /Madam, I had made my first passport which was done through the Agent in 1990. I do not know what were the documents that were submitted then. My actual DOB is 4-8-1970 but it was mentioned in the passport as 4-9-1970 which is wrong. After that my passport was renewed 3 three times with the same date of birth of 4-9-1970 which is wrong. My first passport was through the agent and the last passport which was in November 2011 was also through the agent and i do not know what documents he might have submitted then. All my documents such as Birth Certificate, PAN Card, Voter ID card, Aadhar Card School Passing certificate is carrying the right date of 4-8-1970. I want to change my DOB on the Passport. Please guide if it is possible and whether it can be done and what is the procedure. Just to inform I have traveled on the passports. Please guide. Regards, Peter D'costa

In order to get you date of birth corrected, you need to provide to the concerned RPO the below mentioned documents:
# Your original passport.
# Date of birth certificate.
# Renewed passport for correcting the DOB.
# Affidavit as directed by RPO in support of your application.

You can reapply for corrections in the passport and visit passport office along with all documents, because DOB is inserted from birth certificate if its matches than no need to worry.
See if DOB in birth certificate is right then submit same to.get the DOb corrected.
See you can submit an application in prescribed format along birth certificate they will change the DOb.
According to earlier guidelines, request for change of DOB was allowed within five years of issuance of the passport and the entire process was lengthy and cumbersome as it involved lot of paper work.
1. It is too late now in the day to seek rectification of date of birth. You ought to have done it earlier. Now also you are free to apply for rectification of DOB on the passport, but passport authorities will grill you over delay in applying for rectification.

this could be a typing mistake on the part of passport department and while renewing the passport you have to provide the document in support of your date of birth and in case needed you have to provide an application in this regard that your date of birth is wrongly mentioned because of the typo mistake now the passport applications are automated and you have to to enter by yourself in the application form your passport date and submit the document in relation to otherwise your passport will be reprinted the same manner as it was printed earlier please rate this answer if you like it

Re-issue of Passport: You can apply for re-issue of passport if you want another passport in lieu of an existing passport for any of the following reasons:- Change in existing personal particulars.
- Validity expired within 3 years/ Due to expire.
- Validity expired more than 3 years ago.
- Exhaustion of pages.
- Damaged passport.
- Lost passport.
While applying under Fresh Issuance category - please make sure you never held a Passport of the applied category (i.e. Ordinary Passport, Diplomatic Passport or Official Passport) in the past.
For instance, if you ever held an Ordinary passport (Deep Blue colour) in the past but never held any Diplomatic (maroon colour) or Official (white colour) passport - you need to apply under Reissue category if applying for an Ordinary Passport while choose the Fresh category if applying for a Diplomatic or Official passport. Similarly, if you have/held a Diplomatic (or Official) Passport but do not have/held an Ordinary Passport - you need to apply for Ordinary Passport under Fresh category while choose the Reissue category if applying for Diplomatic (or Official) passport.
