• Blackmailing

What should we do if someone blackmails for physical relationship. Had a extra marital relationship only over the phone. But decided to end it as the person wants a physical relationship. But now the person is threatening to make photos and audios go viral on facebook if I don't continue the relationship.

Hello,

Any such threat is illegal and against the law. You may lodge a complaint for such threats being passed.

The person who is black mailing is a male or female?

- Blackmailing is a crime in India .

- Since that person is blackmailing you , for the wants of physical relatonship without your consent. This amounts to intention to commit crime.

- AND , further that person is threatening you to make photos and audios viral , hence without any further delay , you should lodge a complaint with the police after collecting the proof of his threatening and blackmailing.

- Collect . all the evidence against that person , like masseges, calls etc.

- If, police not registered your complaint , then you should approach the higher official of police department.

In such a case you can also state that you will initiate proper legal action against that person through criminal law and also file a defamation case besides giving a complaint with the cyber crime police for trying to exploit the situation.

After that also if that person is not stopping the activities then you may better approach the local police as well as the cyber crime police and seek their protection.

If your husband is not involved in this then you may face more problems hence you may have to inform him about it before the things are going out of control.

You may take the help of your husband to lodge a criminal complaint against the said person with the local police, they will call him through phone and give a warning message.
