Marked wrong category for government job application. Am i in trouble?
Sir, By mistake i wrote ST in my job application, but i am SC, and i got data verification and medical letter which they said do not assure you a job. I got to know about my mistake during my DV and i panicked and masked there that i am a ST candidate, And as my cast certificate was issued 6-7 years ago they asked me to provide a certificate of recent date and got my deceleration for me to provide it in 15 days and sent my document further for medical. I am scared that it would ruin my whole career ahead. I cannot provide any ST certificate because i am not, so i wont provide them that an if by any chance they give me call letter for joining i wont me joining that. I just wanna know that am i in any kind of trouble for this and what should i do ahead.

1. Write to the relevant authority about the mistake and annex a affidavit and SC certificate, relating to the same.
2. Request for condoning off the inadvertent error of writing ST instead of SC.
3. Proceed with joining the job, on receiving the joining letter.

Yes you are in trouble because you have committed fraud. You should immediately write a letter to the authorities stating that this was a mistake and you belong to the sc category.
They will either reject your candidature or accept it. But if you don't tell them they may lodge an fir against you.

That will be considered the human error in filling category, not of much concern. Caste certificate valid for a whole life. If they do not permit a change in category and file writ in the High Court for relief. In no case, SC certificate will submit. That will be a criminal offence.
Send them a letter that you do not want to join the services and do not go further for documents verification etc.

1. They arev not expected to give you call letter since you have not send them the ST certificate or any fresh certificate though asked by them.
2. Do not attend to any further test, be it medical or anything.
3. If by mistake they issue you appointment letter, do not join them.
approach before concerned authority with an application and ask them to rectify in job application. I think there is a procedure to rectify mistakes in application.
