• FIR registered against me no longer shoes online

A FIR was registered against me in 2015 but no chargesheet is filed till date. I have been present in a few hearings and then my lawyer took over.

Today when I checked the status of my case online and could not find any details as per the ongoing case in sessions court and neither could I find the FIR now.

What does this mean?

Ask your lawyer to check the file and see the status. Might be due to some technical difficulty the status of the case is not updated.

You should try to enquire from Investigating Officer about the stage of the case.

Also, you should get the judicial file inspected by yourself or by a lawyer in order to find out as to what is going on in the case.

In all likelihood the investigation officer would not have filed the charge sheet till date and would have requested  more time from the court.

In this case, you can file an application and inspect the judicial file.

That is what I am saying. This usually does not happen. Ask your advocate to check the file physically and update the status of the case to you.

Dear Client,

May be closer report filed by police but than where the role of an advocate arised and you attended court hearing ?

Until police do not submit chargesheet , no court trail possible and FIR once registered, it may closer report/quashed or chargesheet.

Confirm through your advocate to apply for certified copy of FIR and report filed by police to confirm status.

Closer report possibility is higher.

Kindly visit the same court where the last case hearing done and provide Case number to clerk or registered of the court. You will come to know where exact your case is laying. Means in which court currently case has been transferred.

Online status some time it may be updated late or there may be any issue in the computer server etc. So visit personally and check the details of case.

1. IT either means:
a) That the case was been withdrawn by the complainant (State /Police) .OR.
b) That the case is transferred to "dormant file" & would be brought up at any later date
c) That there is some error in the court data computer system

d)  That the case no. might have been changed /modified.

2. Confirm the same by meeting the Court Registrar by quoting the case no.

You can inquire the same by approaching the court. If b summary is filed it means there is no case made out. If police doesn't file material it will not even file chargesheet

Dear Sir,

You have the option of checking for case status of any court in India through their respective websites.

But If any such case is filed in any court of law in India, you would receive a notice for appearance to defend or settle the case.

If you are talking about the case filed in a Local Police Station, still the police are bound to inform and involve you for the investigations before any charge sheet is filed in the respective court of Law.

You can check for the record of court cases in the website of the district court that you may think to be the appropriate Jurisdiction of your place of dispute.

Best is to approach a lawyer or legal firm for better assistance.

  1. As per the information mentioned in the present query, makes it clear that FIR has been registered for sure, and for the same you have gone for the few hearing also.
  2. Now, you should ask your lawyer about the status of the case, and if he doesn’t response in positive then you may to approach the same court.
  3. You should file an application for inspection in the same court (Ahlmad of the court) in which you appeared, then see what exactly the status of your case.
  4. Rest, you can contact me through Kaanoon for further legal assistance on this issue and for knowing the exact procedure for filing and getting approved of the inspection application.

usually, state cases are entered into ecourt record, once charge sheet is submitted, in your case as the charge sheet is not submitted therefore not showing in ecourts website. it is obvious.

why don't you ask your lawyer or any other lawyer to get the status of your case.

quite possible, Court had issued NBW against you or might declare you PO due to non-appearance in the court proceedings.

you are advised to immediately look for that to avoid extreme serious consequences.

You can ask the details from your advocate who will enquire the same in the court and let you know.

The online status may not have been updated especially if the charge sheet has not been filed by police before court, the court would not have taken this case on its file.

You may have to wait for the updation of the records which will be done only after the police is filing the charge sheet before the concerned court.

You may approach your lawyer for further clarification.
