• Maintenance charges for closed garage

In a registered CHS closed garage owner is he liable to pay maintenance charges. Property tax is paid regularly to society.

closed garage is a separate independent unit

however if this garage is attached to your flat, then you need not pay twice

but if you have a separate share certificate for garage, then you will have to pay

If your garage is part of your apartment and it is included in payment of common area maintenance charges that makes no difference if you are organised is closed and not in use you have to pay the maintenance charges to the society accordingly

  1. As per the information mentioned in the present query, makes it clear that the regular maintenance charges have been paid to the society. 
  2. And that is been paid for the devices which in regular use by ge members.
  3. Garage maintenance charges whether to be paid or not, would depend upon to points:-
  4. First, there should be no specific clause in the society agrement for paying unused service tax.
  5. And Secondly, the same should not be used regularly resulting of which it requires regular maintenance.
