The question is not about the minority status of the school, it will be as per your seniority and the qualification.

If you are qualified and a senior person to occupy the post, then   after confirming your eligibility, the school management can very well accommodate you in the top post.

  1. As per the information mentioned in the present query, makes it clear that the institution where you have been working as a teacher has turned up to be a Minority Institution.
  2. There are several rules which relate to the admission on the minority called institution.
  3. You need to clarify in the query as to what is the procedure for becoming the head of the same, as every minority institution has its own rules for designating the same.
  4. Still, I try to search for you, if there is any specific act or rules which may be governing the criteria for declaring the promotion aided designation.

- A minority Institution is free to select and appoint a principal and even without being bound by the principle of seniority.

- But this appointment should be made fairly and reasonably and there should not be violation of right of an eligible candidate.

- Hence, if you think that you are an eligible candidate for becoming the head of the school , there is full possibility for the same and on the ground of religion , the Institution cannot barred you to becoming head of the school.

Dear Sir,

Yest, religion will not considered to become head of the institution.  Irrespective of your religion and irrespective of the status of school with your experience and other merits you can claim status of head of the institution.
