I am working at a PSU. In order to augment my income and improve my lifestyle, I am investing in an e-commerce franchise. If my efforts in e-commerce does not affect the quality of my work at the PSU and I do not reveal this to anyone in my office, can my employer take any action against me? I am willing to pay all necessary taxes for the income derived from this second venture.

Hello
A govt employee cannot indulge in any kind of a business. This is the law and it hasn't changed but people do all kinds of businesses but not in their name but in the name of their spouse or children you can do likewise because if your business expands and the income is taxable you would be in a very uncomfortable position.
Regards
