• Obc certificate

Sir
My obc certificate was issued by sdo of hoogly district westbengal where I was residing on rent for 9 years for some reasons but my permanent address is in district north 24 parganas westbengal. In recent time during a govt bank documents verification they gave a note that my obc certificate is issued from other district different from my permanent district. Will it be any problem?

Hello,

Yes, you must get the certificate issued from your place of permanent residence.

Since, two districts are not located in two different states, therefore the same shall not cause much problem.

Please note that all OBC Certificates in India are issued by the officers of the State Govt and the officers competent are as follows as notified by DoPT’s O.M. No. 36012/22/93Estt.

(SCT) dated 15.11.1993.

You should have the one issued by central govt. and in the format prescribed by jossa.

For the reserved categories, there are two lists of castes - one issued by the State govt and the other issued by the Central govt.

In many cases, there are castes that are recognized as OBC by the relevant State govt but not by the Central govt. Thus, such castes would be in the relevant State govt list not in the Central govt's list.

For OBC reservation in Central govt institutes such as the IITs, NITs, IIITs (except IIITH) and CFTIs, the relevant caste should be mentioned in the Central govt's list and the certificate should be issued by the relevant Central govt authority.

Sir if you have been residing in hoogly for last 9 years and have proof of same there won't be any issue. You can claim to be resident of hoogly dostrcit from long time and based on that you got your certificate.

Dear Client,

Caste certificate issued is valid in all over state,so such certificate issued by SDO from another district dose not become invalid, also for the reason that you had a long stay in that district.

Still to remove difficulties, get it issued from your permanent address.
