• Rent to bachelors

In our colony, group of families living. We have formed colony wellfare association. We collect subscription and appointed a security. Everything was fine. Recently one land lord given his house for rental for about 13 to 15 bachelors. They are working in a small company from about 20 kms.
Our Colony people especially children's and ladies feels uncomfortable because that house is operating as a commercials lodge.
We all our colony people are in unity.
Is there any law which we can request the land lord to vacate the bachelors and rent to a family?
Actually it's annoying situation here.
Please help us on this.

There is no law that rooms can't be given to bachelors. You can only Complaint if any illegal activities are carried out in that place.

See there is no law that can restrict him from giving the house on rent to the bachelors further if there is any nuisance you can complaint to the police officials.

You cannot force them out or ask landlord to give to the family only.

Sir there is no such law to vacate them you can report the police nuisance created by them and they shall take the action in that case it can be vacated.

Further kindly check what kind of agreement it is most probably it is rent agreement with company to provide there employees residence that does not need commercial license.

Issue legal notice to member that no prior permission has been taken for use of residential premises as lodge

2) that no licence has been granted by authorities for use as lodge

3) call upon him to furnish copy of agreement

4) to stop using premises as lodge

5) if he refuses file suit against flat owner and obtain court orders restraining him from using premises as lodge

1. There is no law in the land whereby renting is prohibited to bachelors.

2. So as long as they are not breaking the law or causing nuisance to neighbours only because of your misdirected apprehension or discomfort they can not restrained from using the rented place.

3. There is no need to think the boys to be a threat to ladies and if you think then they may initiate action against you.

4. So accept them with with open heart and hands. You would find all your fears go away.

Good luck.

No there is no law to restrict bachelors from taking home on rent. But society can impose their own rules and restrictions within framework of constitution on such tenants.

Yours is a colony formed by mutual agreement among yourselves.

This unregistered and unwritten constitution of the colony cannot enforce anything legally.

If there is an association which is properly registered with the registrar of cooperative societies then you may, as per the bye laws, can issue a notice to the owner in this regard.

However there is no law to restrict the house to be let out on rent to bachelors.

All bachelors are from different state.

Also the Land lord did not get any license for running a kind of PG or lodge.

If he is running an unauthorised PG, then you may submit an application to t the local civic body about this and can request them to intervene to remove the PG due to the nuisances you and other residents face in this regard.

Please suggest if any other way to make the bachelors to move to a town and keep a family in that rental house.

Legally you cannot do anything about it since it is that owner's right to lt out his premises on rent to anyone.

If you face any problem from anyone then you can lodge a police complaint against that culprit.

From association, many ladies and old men were requested him multiple times.

Because it's a residential area and many weman and girls are there. But he does not understand. He behaves like an adamant.

Is there any other way to vacate them from our colony?

Until and unless there are problems from the occupants to the neighbors especially the women and children, you cannot do anything about it.

If there is an unauthorised PG functioning then you may approach th local civic body for remedy against it.
