In the current salw deed mntuon both, forst mention the old address and clarify which is now changes to this, as per municipality clause. You can also put a clause to this that is add a para for clarification
I am planning to buy a property in Chennai. As per current sale deed of the seller, property address is New No 25, Old No 8, Flat N, X Street, Chennai. But, Chennai Corporation changed the property number 8 years back. The current address of property is New No 16, Old No 25, Flat N..etc My question is which door number I should mention in the property schedule of my sale deed? A. New No 16, Old No 25 (Current Address) B. New No 15, Old No 8 (As per current Sale Deed of the Seller). Also, boundary of the schedule in the current sale deed of the seller is reflecting old addresses. Should I mention the current door number of the boundaries as well or mention exact boundaries as per the current sale deed of the seller?

Can you send a sample template of how I can mention it?
There is nothing to ban the mention of old numbers to identify the property along with the boundary as recognized in the old records.
Your sale deed should contain new door no. along with all the relevant previous changes to avoid any future problem
You should mention current address and not old address in sale deed
Mention current door number of boundaries
It can be mentioned old survey number has been changed by Chennai muncipal corporation
To avoid any confusion whatsoever at a later date, it is better to narrate as follows in the proposed sale deed at the relevant places, including the schedule of the property: " New Door No.16, Old Door No.25, Flat N, X Street, which bore the New Door No.15, Old Door No.8, in the immediately preceding Sale Deed registered as Doc. No.0000/yyyy with SRO, XYZ, on dd/mm/yyyy, " It may also be recited at an appropriate place that the Chennai Corporation changed the door number after the immediately preceding sale deed had been executed and registered in favour of the predecessor-in-title.
The survey number/address having been updated, you must record the correct current and updated addresses in the sale deed.
Same position is applicable for boundary.
1. You should first mention the old number and thereafter mention that the said no. has currently been changed to the new numbers.
2. This way you shall cover both the numbers and clear any possible ambiguity in future.
3. The above is the common way to solve the stated problem.
4. More specifically, you should mention Old No. 8 which has been changed to no.15 which has further been changed to the new no. 16 by the Chennai Corporation.
You should mention "Old No. 8 which has been changed to no.15 which has further been changed to the new no. 16 by the Chennai Corporation" in the schedule of your sale deed.
You have to mention in sale deed both old numbers and new numbers and also existing numbers present and also boundaries are exist as on today
1. Mention the address which appears in the sale deed of the seller but also mention "the new address is ......." to preempt any ambiguity in the title.
2. Above all, get a flawless sale deed drafted by a lawyer.
You cannot change the boundaries of the property from that of the original sale deed document to anything of your desire.
The door numbers may change, hence after confirmation of the exact current door number, you should mention the same without forgetting to to include whatever door number that was mentioned in the original sale deed on the basis of which you make this purchase.
