• Can property tax under KMC be paid using multiple Demand Drafts?

Brief: The property is in name of my grand mother who is no more. Before her death she made a Will and appointed my elder uncle as executor. Further, my uncle has provided us the probate along with the Will copy. There is some substantial amount tax due for the entire house which currently my another uncle is dealing. He pleaded KMC authorities for reducing the amount which has been considered. He has sent his bank details so that we can transfer the amount online (as we stay in another city now) however, we don't trust him much.

My Question: Is transferring the amount (our share) to him is the only option as it is still an undivided property (mutation not done yet) so that he pays the entire amount in a single Demand Draft? Or, can I make a separate DD payable to KMC and then send it to him?

KMC would not accept multiple bank drafts

2) you can send cheque or demand draft to uncle for your share with a covering letter mentioning it is towards your share of property taxes

You should prefer to make separate DD instead of a single demand draft

1. The payment shouldbe madein single demadn draftor through cash over the counter.

2.SInce it is a joint proeprty you are liable for the proeprty tax as per your share only and not more than that.

3.Hence I would advise you to send your share of money to your uncle get written acknowledgement from him and,let him pay the money in his own way.

The transaction details while transferring the amount to his account would be a substantial evidence for having paid your share towards the tax that is payable to KMC.

In my opinion, this evidence should be sufficient to make a claim in future on this.

The separate demand draft by each individual would complicate the simple things hence to avoid problems in future, it would better that you avoid paying separately at this stage when the property is still jointly held.

The requirement is an evidence for payment of tax.

This is a valid evidence which would deliver the message when required
