• Godaddy account hacked that had all my hardwork

I purchased godaddy account and hosted 10-12 websites there. My account got hacked and all information was removed, my websites are pointing goadddy.

I contacted Godaddy to which they said i am not owner, i told them that my information is visible online for domains and for hosting (server) i have invoice.

The hacker changed all details and there is no way i can claim account.

I have shared all details with them - invoices, account summaries i received, emails i received

Further the hack happen on 11th July 00:21 hrs and I informed them at 12:00 NOON same day.

. The websites were developed with cost over 3 lakh and spent 4 years.. some websites are of clients, all lost.

I have provided them with my id prrof, company's id proof, etc but they are denying helping me. How can we fight this and what compensation should i seek?

1) issue legal notice and call upon the go daddy to restore your account that was hacked . mention that you have lost Rs 3 lakhs spent in developing the website

2) if they refuse to restore your account file suit for damages and claim compensation for loss suffered by you

3) contact a local lawyer

Hello,

You can file the case in the consumer forum as they are the service provider you can seek a good amount of compensation from them also, but if you are of the view that it has been hacked by third party then you can lodge lodge a criminal complaint in the cyber cell of the police, this might also help you.

you are not a consumer you had purchased account for commercial purposes

2) file suit for damages before district court . it would take 10 years to be disposed of

Hello,

Filing a case in the consumer forum will take a little time in the consumer forum, I also suggest you to immediately file a complaint in the cyber cell also.

all the servers are manged and maintained by the service provider. he is responsible for data lost. you can claim compensation because service providers is responsible.

1. you should file a criminal case under section 66B information technology act because culprit should be presecuted.

2. on the basis of such case you can claim compensation from godaddy. godaddy remits some amount for insurance from data theft hence you have right to claim compensation about 10000 dollar.

3. you can file complaint before consumer forum because it comes under deficiency in service.

This is a cyber crime.

You may approach cyber crime police with the details of hacking and the details of the suspect to be involved in this crime.

The cyber crime police would initiate proper legal action as per law.

How long will the case run if i file it in consumer forum ? And what compensation should i expect ? They are saying hosting do not existing in my account and i have shared invoice with them

If you have planned to aproach consumer forum or has been advised to approach the forum, then you may have to scrutiny the features properly that whether a case before the forum is maintainable before the forum or not and whether yo have supporting documents to prosecute the opposite party properly as per consumer protection law
