You can get the registered sale deed executed jointly in both your names.

Once the sale deed is in joint names, both are having equal rights in the property.

The share certificate may be in one person's name.

But the registered sale deed may be made in both the names.

This will make sure that both are owning the property jointly with equal share

If you want joint ownership then the sale deed has to be executed jointly in favour of both of you. The title originates from the sale deed and no other document.

1. mention your share in the sale deed.

2. you can also register without mentioning share, you can write your name in the sale deed as joint owner/buyer.
