• Candidature cancelled due to biometric mismatch at SBI

With reference to advertisement for SBI specialist officer recruitment No. CRPD/SCO/2016-17/9, I
had applied for the regular post of Developer-MMGS II under SC category.I appeared for the online exam on 20 Jan 2017. After clearing exam i was shortlisted for interview which was scheduled on 6th March 2017. At time of interview my fingerprints matched 90 % with the one taken during online exam. But the software showed me as "Not Verified", since it should match above 98%. They allowed me to give interview. When result came my name was not in the final list. I thought i must not have qualified. Later when they released marks and when i tried to check my marks, my registration number was shown as invalid. Wrote several emails to CRPD inquiring why I am unable to see my marks but no response from their end. After personally visiting the department, got to know that my result is with held due to the biometric issue and has been sent to forensic department for analysis. I waited for it hoping that it will be cleared in forensic. After several days i was shocked to get a response from CRPD stating "Your biometric (thumb impression) mismatch was observed at the time of interview. Subsequently on verification through handwriting and finger print expert, thumb impressions taken at the time of online examination and interview on the attendance sheet also found mismatched. Therefore you are debarred from the recruitment process and your candidature stand cancelled." Later, I filed RTI for my marks and forensic reports. SBI CPIO in response to my RTI, denied me my marks stating that candidature is cancelled and denied to share forensic reports too under section 8(1) j of RTI Act 2005. Sir, I am the genuine candidate who wrote the exam. They should check CCTV footage of online exam or should check my aadhar card etc.I am ready to face any criminal proceedings if found guilty. Please guide me how to approach this case.

you should not have been debarred from recruitment procees and candidature cancelled

2) SBI should not have debarred you merely because of biom, etric mismatch

3) aadhar card would reflect that you are the same person who appeared fopr online exams and interview

4) file petition before CATagainst order debarring you and cancelling your recruitment

Forensic result has to be shared with you so that you can adopt your legal remedies. File an appeal to the first appellate authority and then to State Information Commission to get a copy of the forensic report. Further legal recourse may be adopted only after perusal of the forensic report.

1,t must have been due ti technical glitch.

2.Writing to them would not give any result anymore.

3.Now file a writ petition and ask for independent inquiry by another body including screening of cctv footage.

4.If the high court directs them to re inquire your case once again you have a chance.

1. when you have admitted for interview despite of fact that bio-metric data is mismatched then according to rule of natural justice your candidature could not be cancelled without giving you an opportunity to clarify.

2. you should file a writ under article 226 before the high court for proper direction to consider your candidature along with other candidate and finalise merit list accordingly.

3. whether you are genuine candidate shall be decided after receiving forensic report.

The option before you is to approach high court with a writ petition to set aside the decision of the recruiting board which in your opinion is lopsided and without any proper inquiry or investigation. Therefore against the natural justice.

You may include in your pleadings the strong reasons that you rely upon including the video footage of surveillance camera fitted in the examination hall.
