• Change of surname

I want to know about full procedure to change of surname. If father is live and he wants to keep current surname but it only me wants to change surname then is it possible? How?

You will jsut have to make an advertisement in the newspaper with regards to this and then will have to get the same on affidavit also. After that with these two documents in hand you can get all your government Id's amended accordingly.

Thanks for your user rating, I was told only fact of the matter because of usually cannot change the surname in legally, if change it will support family and relatives statements and consent is required before law in the declaration, Even you want to change your surname, you have to file civil suit for declaration for change the surname before the jurisdictional civil court by producing Notarized Affidavit, paper publication/gazette notification and other ID proofs in this regard along with your parents/relatives for consent for the same by given valid reason for change the surname. This is procedural of law, but its all depend upon your strength of valid reason along with documents, consent of parents and relatives by given evidence before the court. If you prove yourself you can move easily. ... best of luck.

Changing your surname is nothing but a process of changing your name.

You can adopt the process meant for change of name by making an affidavit, newspaper and gazette publication etc.

You dont require your father's consent for you changing your name if you are major by age and able to take any decision have a sound mental health.

You have to apply for change of name with concerned authorities by complying with the formalities as required by the concerned authorities.

You can enclose the copy of the gazette publication to authenticate your request for change of name.
