Ignore her threats
block her number
it is basically blackmail tactics to extort money
I had messaged a person of an agency for online paid services which I got know later that she provided online services. At first we had a general chat about how are u etc and I had no idea that she provided such services. One day the girl messaged me for services. I declined and told not now she messaged me again today for the same to give at a discount price so I just said I can think and shared the qr to pay the amount of 2500 rupees. I told to wait for 15-20 mins to let me check whether I can pay or not but I didn't replied her back in next 20 mins and didn't make the payment. I rejected not possible for me today She said that as u are not paying and wasted her time so she is blackmailing me to file a complaint against me in cyber crime and police for the same. I haven't made any payment or took any service nor I haven't share any personal data like number, image mail id location etc. with them. No exchange had taken place except some normal basic conversation. So what should I do now and does cyber cell or police take against me if I complain. The person is continuously blackmailing me to see u in court will now extract money from u parents and aapki zindagi kharab ab and all this nonsense but the truth is no service no payment is done. So what should I do now.

Lawyers are available now to answer your questions.
There is no crime or any offence done by you to her that she is threatening to pull you to the court or police station.
Instead you can record her call next time and can inform her that you will approach police or even cyber crime police against her if she continues to threaten you with intention to extort money
You may better don't entertain any call and block her number and also don't attend any call from any unknown number too and also block all the calls received from such unknown number to be safe in this regard.
Don't fall prey to such blackmails and threats out of fear.
You have two options to choose from:-
1. Do not communicate with her through any medium; phone calls, messages, whatsapp, instagram etc.
STOP every way of connection with her.
2. Save her communications and go to your nearest police station and lodge an FIR against her Extortion threats.
Dear Sir/Madam,
It is possible that you are facing a team of scammers and you are required to complain against the same to the cyber crime/police through email or any other medium convenient to you. Please be sure not to disclose your intention to hire such services, rather say that you came to know that these are possible fraud and scammers and wish to explore/reveal and book them under provisions of law of the land.
You have not committed any crime by chatting with someone or by declining a service. Since you did not make any payment, did not receive any service, and did not share any personal or sensitive information, no legal action can be taken against you. The threats being made to you are baseless and intended to scare you into sending money. This behavior from the other person amounts to blackmail and harassment, which is illegal under Indian law.
You should not engage further with this person. Block them on all platforms and keep a record of all messages and screenshots as evidence. Do not delete any communication. If the threats continue or escalate, file a complaint with your local Cyber Crime Cell either online at cybercrime.gov.in or by visiting the nearest police station. Mention clearly that you have not made any payment, have not received any service, and are being harassed and blackmailed without any wrongdoing from your side.
Do not be afraid. The law is on your side. This person is trying to exploit your fear and pressure you into sending money. Stay calm, gather evidence, and report the matter if the harassment continues.
Take action, if needed. we will book them for extortion.
You have not made any payment, nor availed any service. No private information, compromising content, or personal data was shared. The conversation was general and never crossed into any illegal activity. There is no legal ground for any complaint against you under cybercrime laws.
Anyone can chat, negotiate a service, and then decline before payment, this is neither a crime nor a breach of contract.
What steps to be done now:
For any further help, pls connect 😊
✅ You did nothing wrong:
No payment made
No service taken
No personal info shared
❌ She is blackmailing you:
Threatening false police/cyber cases
Trying to extort money — this is illegal
🛡️ What you should do:
1. Block her immediately
2. Save all chats/screenshots
3. File complaint at cybercrime.gov.in
4. Visit local Cyber Cell/Police if threats continue
🚫 Don’t:
Reply further
Pay anything
Panic — police won’t act against you for this
You are in a difficult situation, but it's important to understand your rights and the likely legal implications. Here's what you should do:
1. Do Not Engage Further:
Stop all communication with this person immediately. Do not reply to their messages, calls, or any other attempts to contact you. Blocking their number/profile might be a good idea.
Do not explain yourself or apologize. Any further interaction, even to defend yourself, can be used by them to continue the harassment.
2. Do Not Pay Anything:
Absolutely do not make any payment. This is a classic blackmail tactic. If you pay, it will likely encourage them to demand more money.
3. Gather Evidence (If Possible, but don't engage to get it):
If you still have the chat history, take screenshots of all conversations, including the threats, the QR code shared, and your responses (or lack thereof). Make sure the date and time are visible in the screenshots.
Do not delete any messages from your end.
4. Understand the Legal Standing (or lack thereof, for them):
No Contract, No Service, No Payment: Based on your description, no service was rendered, no payment was made, and you explicitly declined the service. There is no legal contract or agreement between you.
No Grounds for Complaint Against You:
Cybercrime/Police Complaint against you: They have no basis to file a legitimate complaint against you for "wasting their time" or "not paying." Refusing a service, especially when no agreement or payment was made, is not a crime.
Blackmail and Extortion: Their actions of threatening you to pay or face police/court action for something you didn't do are a form of blackmail or extortion, which are serious offenses.
5. What You Should Do Now:
Ignore Their Threats: Their threats are empty. They are trying to scare you into paying. Cybercrime cells and the police deal with actual crimes, not with someone changing their mind about a service they haven't paid for or received.
Consider Filing Your Own Complaint (Optional but Recommended if Harassment Continues):
If the blackmail and harassment continue, you can consider filing a complaint against them for blackmail/extortion with the cybercrime cell or your local police.
How to complain:
National Cybercrime Reporting Portal: You can file an online complaint at the official Indian Cybercrime Reporting Portal: www.cybercrime.gov.in.
Local Police Station: You can also visit your nearest police station and explain the situation.
What to provide: Provide all the evidence you have (screenshots of conversations, the QR code, their threats, etc.). Explain clearly that no service was rendered, no payment was made, and they are now threatening you.
6. Reassurance:
It is highly unlikely that the cyber cell or police will take any action against you in this scenario. You have not committed any crime.
They are using intimidation tactics. Stay calm, do not engage, and do not pay.
Ignore, as this appears to be a case of trapping you in a cyber fraud.
Incase it is hard to ignore and they are too persistent, report the matter to the Police.
Hi,
Firstly, I am unable to understand what kind of services you have approached an agency and what kind of agency that is.
If the online paid services are illegal, then you are not supposed to approach such agencies.
If she is blackmailing you, then you approach concerned police station/cyber crime department by narrating all the true facts by taking their help.
Dear Client,
The one thing you can be absolutely sure of is the fact that you have not committed any offence. There was no demand or availing of service on your behalf. The threatening messages sent by this person amount to criminal intimidation under Section 503 of BNS. In addition to this, if she is threatening you behind the façade of anonymous identity Section 507 can also be charged. There is no need to panic since there is no grounds for any criminal action against you. Take screenshots of all threatening messages and preserve this as evidence. File a cyber complaint at the national cyber crime reporting portal. It is most recommendable to visit the cyber crime police station nearby and lodge a complaint there as well.
I hope this answer helps. In case of future queries, please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
