1) you can apply for visa
2) if any query is raised about Pakistani visits rely upon your divorce decree to prove that you were legally divorced
3) carry your divorce papers
4) take the plea that you are Albanian national
Namaste. I am a citizen of the Republic of Albania and I was married to a Pakistani national from 2019 to 2021. I was under Pakistani law a person of Pakistani origin. But when you divorce, that status loses and a person is no longer of Pakistani origin. In my current passport I have two pakistani immigration officer stamps all way back to 2021. So I am concerned that if I apply for an Indian e-visa, even if I am approved I fear I may interrogated by the Indian immigration officers, which I really do not like to do. Its been 4 years since I ever step foot on Pakistan (and I never want to see the face of that terrorist country again) nor have traveled abroad ever since. Besides the two pakistani passport stamps I have two stamps from the Italian border immigration officers, in 2020 (Albanian nationals can travel visa free to the Schengen area for short term visits). Am I elligable to get an Indian E-Visa and how can I avoid being interrogated by Indian border officers about my Pakistani stamps in passport? Please guide me accordingly. I really want to visit Bharat a lot.

Grant of visa or thereafter entry to that land often depends on the discretion of the said country.
In this no law applies .
So therefore just put your fingers crossed and pray that you would be allowed to Indian soil and that too without interrogation. However considering the tension between these two neighbouring countries I find little hope in this.
If you are applying for travel visa then you better wait for improvement of the situation.
Good luck.
Madam,
You are suggested not to get afraid by the Indian Border Officers because it is their duty to do the needful under the powers given to them under law. Every person visiting India go by that process and there can't be any exception and avoidance of the same. Your suitable and appropriate answers to the specific questions will never land you in any problem and so you are suggested to get prepared and proceed further.
- Since, you are a citizen of Albania , then you cannot be interrogated by the Indian Immigration officer for getting e-visa and travel to India.
- Stamping on passport means that you have travel to Pakistan and it not confirmed that you are Pakistani national
- You can mention that you went there to marry a woman or just you have visited there for other reasons.
- Hence, you are entitled to get E-visa and travel to India
A foreign national who is the spouse of a Pakistani citizen may encounter some additional requirements when applying for a visit visa to India, but it's not generally impossible to obtain one.
The specific process and documents needed may vary depending on the applicant's origin and the type of visa requested.
The specific type of visa (e.g., tourist, business, medical) will influence the requirements.
Depending on the purpose of the visit, other supporting documents like a letter of invitation, proof of accommodation, or financial statements may be necessary.
While the process may be slightly more involved than for other foreign nationals, a foreign spouse of a Pakistani citizen can generally obtain a visit visa to India by meeting the specific requirements and providing the necessary documentation. It's essential to check the High Commission of India in your country of residence.
Yes — as an Albanian citizen, you are eligible to apply for an Indian e-Visa (tourist or business, depending on your purpose). Your previous Pakistani stamps from 2021 do not automatically disqualify you. Indian immigration officers may notice the Pakistani stamps, but since you are no longer connected to Pakistan (legally divorced, no current ties), you have nothing to hide.
When applying for the e-Visa, be fully truthful in your application. If asked during entry, you can briefly explain:
"I was married to a Pakistani citizen but divorced in 2021. I have no ties with Pakistan anymore. I am visiting India as a tourist."
To minimize questioning:
Carry a copy of your divorce certificate (if possible).
Be calm, polite, and truthful at immigration.
Having only 2 Pakistani stamps (from 4 years ago) is not a red flag.
Indian immigration may ask routine questions, but you are not doing anything wrong. Thousands of travelers with previous Pakistan connections visit India smoothly.
Law will take its due course if you feel there is any apprehension from immigration you can seek help of Indian court in the said matter
Dear Client,
In conclusion, you are eligible for an Indian e-Visa as an Albanian citizen. Your past connection to Pakistan will almost certainly lead to a more detailed background check during the e-Visa application process and likely questioning upon arrival. Being fully transparent and prepared with all necessary documents and a clear, calm explanation will be your best strategy to navigate this successfully and fulfill your desire to visit Bharat.
