• Advocates with experience or knowledge on "gaslighting"

Looking to speak to advocates who has specifically dealt with cases on "gaslighting", or at least who has a 'very deep' knowledge about gaslighting and its dynamics. Specifc expertise on gaslighting is highly desirable, however, "narcisstic abuse" might also work. If not, an advocate with a good background in Western psychology (psycho-legal experts) is alslo preferable.

You may have to look for an advocate of your choice yourself, no advocate can volunteer to take up your case through such public forums because it will be considered as solicitation which is prohibited under advocate act.

  • Specialist domestic-violence lawyers
    • Flavia Agnes (Majlis Legal Centre, Mumbai) – deep experience in emotional and financial abuse.
    • Vrinda Grover (Delhi) – renowned for gender-based violence and coercive control cases.

  • Psycho-legal practitioners
    • Look for family-law advocates who’ve co-authored or presented on “coercive control” or “narcissistic abuse” at legal-psychology forums.
    • State Bar councils sometimes list “lawyer & psychologist” dual-qualified experts—ask your local council for referrals.

  • NGO Legal Aid Cells
    • Jagori (Delhi) and Lawyers Collective (Chennai/Mumbai) both handle cases with deep psychological components—ask them to connect you with their on-panel advocates.

  • How to engage

    1. Check their websites or LinkedIn profiles for keywords like “gaslighting,” “coercive control,” “psychological abuse.”

    2. Read any published judgments or articles they’ve authored on emotional abuse.

    3. Book a brief consultation (often ₹500–1,000) to gauge their depth of understanding.

By starting with the above names and referral channels, you’ll find counsel who not only “get” gaslighting but have litigated it successfully.
