Bangladesh national married to an Indian national or their children may be granted X-2 Visa for a period up to five years.

2) make application online for visa on Indian govt website

3) Once the form is filled and submitted, applicant must print the completed application form and sign and submit the physical copy along with the supporting documents and the Passport to the concerned Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) or directly at the Indian Mission on the scheduled appointed date. The instructions for filling the form and scheduling the appointment can be seen at Instructions for Regular Visa Application.

Now with e-FRRO, the whole process is online.

You need to apply for conversion of entry/tourist/visit visa to X2 visa by complying with the necessary requirements and documents.

There are many FRRO offices in India, so no matter which part of India you are in, you won’t be too far from one. While they say you don’t have to visit and the whole thing can be done online, practically one can  be ready to make a trip to an FRRO if needed.

The foreigner has to get an affidavit that says she/he will not get employed or do business while in India, and that she/he want to convert  visa to a spouse visa.

the foreigner have to get an affidavit that says you will not get employed or do business while in India, and that you want to convert your visa to a spouse visa.

The first thing you need to do is to register on the e-FRRO portal of India. After you do that, click on “Fresh/New Application Submission

Getting the India X visa involves a visit from the cops, who should be from the police station in your area of residence. The primary reason the police verification exists is to confirm whether you live where you say that you live.

Of course the process is lengthy and cumbersome and you don't need a consultant to do this job for you.It is an online registration and process, hence you can do it on your own.

However you can take the assistance of any advocate of this forum or outside in case of any help to process the visa.

- Long term multiple-entry tourist visas may be issued to Bangladeshi nationals visiting India to meet relatives, friends, or children studying in recognized educational institutions, pilgrimage or for any other legitimate purpose for a period not exceeding one year with the stipulation that continuous stay on each visit shall not exceed 90 days.

- Further, Entry (X) Visa may be granted to Bangladesh national married to an Indian national or their children may be granted X-2 Visa for a period up to five years.

- Hence , you can apply for the same through online mode as well., and can also contact the Indian consulate in Bangladesh.

Dear client,

That sounds like an important transition for your family! Navigating visas and settlement processes can be intricate. I'd suggest reaching out to the Indian Embassy or Consulate in Bangladesh for accurate and detailed information on the specific visa requirements and processes for your wife to obtain a long-term X2 visa to join you in Pondicherry. It might be beneficial to gather all relevant documents, including marriage certificates, birth certificates of your children, and any other pertinent paperwork before seeking advice or assistance. This will help in streamlining the process and ensuring everything is in order for the visa application.

If there is anything specific that you'd like to know or discuss about this process, you can reach out to us for further assistance
