• Supreme court case reflecting in RTC

Hi, We are planning to buy a plot in one of the big and old layouts in bangalore. Layout was formed 20 years ago and in ~90% of plots, houses have been already constructed. Layout has all the approvals from BBMP, BDA etc,

But starting 2023, RTC is showing a supreme court case number. When checked for case details online, case has been going on since last 15 years in supreme court. But RTC was not showing any case till 2022. Only in 2023, case is being reflected for whole survey number of layout.

Nobody is aware of what this case is and why its reflecting in RTC after 15 years. Can this much delay happen for a case to reflect in RTC and is this property safe to purchase?

Before purchasing the land, check the details and status of case in Supreme Court from court records. Decision of SC would also decide the fate of property.

Contact a lawyer who will physically inspect the file and inform you about the case details. Yes property cases go on for a much longer time.

Dear Client,

Ensure to verify the particulars and the ongoing status of any cases related to the property in the Supreme Court by consulting the court records. The final verdict of the Supreme Court will play a crucial role in determining the future of the property, making it essential to conduct this due diligence before proceeding with the purchase.

Verify the case status and the details of the case through a lawyer from Supreme court and also obtain a legal opinion based on the information about the case status in supreme court.

You can proceed only if recommended by the lawyer giving legal opinion.

It is the normal practice of the Supreme Court to pass a stay order on the property when the matter comes up

for hearing, and hence you should know the details of that case before purchasing the property.

Until you are not sure about the case facts and interest of parties of the case, purchase is not advisable.

Delay possible.
