• Do my monthly rent in 2021-22 to my landlord gets detected while filing ITR for FY 2021-22 on system

Hi,

I have one query to ask

Actually in April month of 2021, I rented a residential flat at Rs 10000 per month and it used to be deducted from my bank account on 20th date of every month till January 2022 when i ended my rent agreement and vacated the flat.

The issue is, i rented this flat for my personal purpose (for partying, friends and all) and
my father is not aware of the whole situation that i ever rented a flat for myself. And i do not want to disclose this to him in future as well.

But the thing is, my father files my Income tax return every year and my bank statement for 2021-22 shows that Rs 10K use to get deducted every 20th of month in the name of landlord.

(And i also own a blog through which i earn whose income details i show on my computation so can i show this expense of rent of Rs 10k monthly in my website expense by saying to my father, it is monthly subscription for a service i bought to manage my website from third party...something like that because i do show website maintenance expenses like hosting charges etc.) or shall i totally disregard this expense and try not to discuss about this at all.

But my landlord also have my pan card details, so is there any mechanism through which my father will get to know later in the ITR filing process that those Rs 10k monthly expense were actually rent i paid (If my landlord shows those rent as his rental income)

I really need clarification on this.

Your landlord's ITR showing the income from this rental amount is nowhere concerned with your own ITR.

You can inform your auditor to show this monthly deducted amount was paid towards the services which you propose now.

Until and unless you reveal this matter to your father on he questioning about this, he will not come to know, hence it depends on the secrecy you maintain in this regard.

Your landlord has to show his rental income, for him its his income from let out property.

There is no way your father will get to know about your 10,000/- rental income while filing your Income Tax Return.

Frankly speaking, your monthly 10,000/- expense can be questioned by your father, as you are paying it every month to your landlord not to forget the additional security deposit which you must have paid.

Be careful!

Income credited to your account and expenditure debited from your account will not be reflected in the  details of father’s itr. It will be reflected in the  income of you landlord. Father  has no means to know the  details of payments made by our to landlord.
