• How to obtain a PAN card in little complex situation

I have applied for my PAN card almost 10 years ago. At that time I was a citizen of India living in the USA with a green card. But, my PAN card was never delivered to my home address in India. So, I don't know anything about the details of that PAN card. I did not do anything at that time because I had no property or wealth in India at that time.
Now I am a US citizen and have an OCI card and want to buy property in India, soI need a PAN card.
Can I apply online for a new PAN card online from the USA? If not what are my other options or pathway to get a PAN card?

Thank you!

You should apply for a new PAN card. Tge government of India will issue a new PAN card to you if there was no prior issuance. In case there was they will inform you that you already have an existing one.

Yes. Apply for a PAN card. File the necessary documents along with the application. The PAN card will be issued in your name.

If it's been 10 years and there was no communication then maybe the PAN card wasn't issued. Moreover many inactive PAN cards were cancelled too by the central government.

Dear Client,

If you are a foreign citizen who wants to apply for a PAN card in India, you will have to start by filling out the form. You can visit the TIN-NSDL website and fill out form 49AA. Individuals who have foreign nationalities, OCI holders, and PIOs need to use this form to get a PAN Card.

You can apply for a pan card online. Your OCI card would suffice to get a PAN card in India.

A non-resident Indian ('NRI') can apply for PAN by submitting the Form No. 49A along with the requisite documents and prescribed fees at the PAN application center of UTIITSL or NSDL. He can also make an online application through the website of UTIITSL or NSDL.
