• Mobile connection

I was using Airtel number for more than 10 years, one day they disconnected my number without informing me. I was always prompt on my payments so it came as a surprise to me.
I went to Airtel Store to enquire they informed me that my phone number is tagged as corporate number which I never opted for. They asked me get in touch with my employer to get a NOC to reactivate my number. And also they informed they disconnected after speaking to my organisation. The company to which my phone number is tagged to I no longer work there and it's been 6 years since I left the organisation.
Still I got in touch with my old organization to get the NOC, my old organization is not providing me NOC but they gave instructions to Airtel to remove my connection. I have not received any valid reason why they do want to issue NOC
I requested multiple times to both Airtel and my old organization to help me sort the issue. It is still pending from 6 months. I filed a case in consumer forum did not help much
Additionally the bill amount was always paid out of my own pocket and my organisation never paid my bill amount
And more importantly I have been receiving bills for on Airtel from last 6 months, the number is inactive since March 2021 which Airtel themselves have done it. But they are prompt in sending bills to inactive number.
What action can I take against Airtel and my old employer?

File complaint against Airtel for deficiency in service before consumer forum

2) seek litigation costs and compensation for mental torture undergone by you

3) seek orders to direct Airtel to activate your number

4) make your employer party to the complaint

Since you have already approached the consumer protection forum for relief you may have to pursue the matter through the same source.

The consumer court can not dispose the case within short time,  it may take much time for disposal.

Dear Client,

A case at the Consumer Forum needed to be filed and you've done the same. It is time-consuming for the final verdict to be pronounced, however, it shall be treated well in your favor if the matter has been well-defined.

You may also seek orders for your advantage to direct the Airtel company to compensate for the mental torture you've faced and activate the number if need be. It is also essential to keep your old employer as a party to the complainant, considering that you were harassed even by their reluctance to act in the situation before them.

Also, consider having a proper conversation with your Advocate who is dealing with the case for you. Please keep up-to-date with the proceedings.

You can also book a consultation with us if you need a further opinion.

Thank you.

- Since you have already filed the complaint before the consumer forum , then you seek the financial losses done due to inactive the number without giving notice to you legally.

- Further, you can also file a compliant against the Airtel company before the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal based in Bangalore for getting a prompt relief .
