No govt.  Authorities certify family tree/member certificate.

Get it verified by some professional agencies expert in this field. Like any genealogist if any available.

You can obtain legal heir certificate from revenue office of your locality.

You can approach the revenue department/Tahsildar within your residential jurisdiction.

If a government official is demanding money for this then you can get him trapped by giving a complaint with the DVAC police who will get into action  to nab the culprits.

1. Just simply fill in the relevant forms and attach all the relevant documentary evidences (Birth Certificate, PAN, Aadhar, Ration, Election cards etc.... alongwith the prescribed fees, with the Tahsil office.  Take rubber stamp acknowledgment of the dept., on your set of copy.

2. Wait for 30 days, IF you do not receive, THEN simply file an RTI application asking for certified copies of the requested documents and reasons for the delay in issuing you the certificate.

3. Legally the above is sufficient for your purposes, instead of paying bribes and avoiding corruption.
