Lok Adalats have been given statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. Under the said Act, the award

made by the Lok Adalats is deemed to be a decree of a civil court and is final and binding on all parties and no appeal against such an award lies before any court of law.

2)the award passed by Lok adalat has to be registered with the sub registrar office

3) the court passing the decree has to send it toRegistering Officer within the local limits of whose jurisdiction the whole or any part of immovable property comprised in such decree or order is situate, and such officer shall file the copy of the memorandum in his Book No. 1.

1. Prepare a "Settlement Deed" with brother, and annex the Lok Adalat order, affix the Stamp Duty fees and have it registered with mutual & joint signatures, before the local office of the Registrar of Sub- Assurances.

2. Do the above preferably thru a local registration agent.

3. AFTER registration, submit the registered deed to the local Municipal /Revenue dept., for proper mutation /transfer of names in their records & registers.

1. Yes you have to get the transfer deed from your brother to get the land registered on your name.

2. If brother refuse to register the property you should file execution petition in civil court to execute order of lok adalat.

Based on the orders passed by lok adalat you may get the property registered on your name, the lok adalat order is also a court order by which you can get the property registered duly executed by your brother, if he refuses then through court.

You can file an execution petition to execute the decree passed by lok adalat before the execution court, if your brother fails to execute the same in yor name, then you may ask the court to get it executed and registered in your favor at your expenses.
