1. They will not ask you about your nationality if you provide your matriculation certificate or birth certificate.

2. Provide Adhaar Card as your ID and address proof and it should be same where you are currently residing.

What is your nationality?

If you are an Indian by birth then you will be having sufficient documents to prove that.

Why do you hesitate to prove your nationality, dont you have proper documents to prove that?

The passport authorities shall be demanding the proper proofs hence it is your duty to provide the correct details or else your passport may not be issued.

Living on rent is no problem. Not everyone can have a house. State your case truthfully and inform the official about the places where you have lived. Tell him about your father and your current job profile where you live etc. A provision of appeal has been provided too.

Before issuing passport it is the responsibility at the passport office 2 directed to the police to confirm your address in case there is any problem in your address that matter can be started out along with the police to provide the actual address details so that at the time of enquiry that can be verified if there is any objection from the passport office that is to be rectified will before the address for the verification issued.

If your passport has been rejected and you don't have any other proof which passport department accepts then you have to file a civil suit making the passport office a party and principal secretary home should be the other answering party to get the direction from the court

- Since, you are living in Delhi around 45 years even on rent , it means your birth year is before 1987 , hence your documents are enough to proof the nationality.
