Kapil chit funds delaying money
Hi, For last 15 yrs I had 3 chits in Kapil chit funds. And i received amount for first 2 chits without much hassle. But my 3rd chit got finished in April 2019, and literally I'm going twice in every month to ask about the money. Every now and then the branch manager keep on saying that he'll give next month the cheque. But it's been over 8 months and still the same. Im need of that money and he's giving same response. I went to regional branch also , but they told to check with my chit branch as they can't help in this. I also told I'll give police complaint , but he's telling no need to go legally and he'll need some time to clear the dues. I don't know what to do as I'm working in other state and chit is my home town. Also i fear of going to police and courts because i m thinking it ll cost me more money to spend on police people and lawyers fees.legal issues.

If you cannot afford to pay the lawyer fee or bear the litigation expenses then you cannot recover the amount.
If the amount is very meager and negligible compared to the expenses you can ignore the claim itself or try to get it by visiting the office of the chit fund frequently.
A complaint before police would not cost you any money hence why dont you lodge a criminal complaint against the chit company for the offences of cheating and breach of trust?
Or you can even issue a legal demand notice either by yourself or through a local lawyer.
