Dear sir, One of my young friend is facing this issue. He is 23 yrs old and has been in a relationship with a girl for about two years. They have never had any physical/sexual relationship. They met in college and became friends and decided to take the relationship to the next level. However, the boy's parents do not appreciate of this because their kundli is not matching. So the boy wants to close the relationship with the girl. The girl is emotionally very attached and is speaking of dying, not wanting to live anymore etc. If the girl inflicts any injury on herself, or if she tried to commit suicide, can she blame the boy for this? What if she writes a suicide note that names the boy, as the reason for her death? What action can the boy take now, to protect himself?

The boy should file a complaint with the police that girl is intimidating and threatening for suicide and self harm.

As per facts, your friend has to talk with his girlfriend and convinced her.
Girl Friend can not forced your frnd to maintain that live-in relationship.
As she is threatening you for committing suicide is itself an offence, an legal action can be taken against her.
PS: It is advisable please take a legal action against her, else if she commit suicide in future, it could be a legal problem for your friend.
The boy can file a police complaint that she may inflict any injury and can falsely implicate him. No other remedy available
1. The problem is when a girl commits suicide then the person if mentioned in her suicide note can be arrested.
2. Even if his name is not mentioned then also he can be arrested if complaint is lodged against him on allegations of abetment of suicide.
3. Now if the girl is giving threats then the boy can lodge complaint of criminal intimidation and extortion.
Yes she can blame that boy for her suicide and if she writes his name in suicide letter he may have to face prosecution for 306 IPC.
He can only make a Non cognizable report to police regarding suicide threats from girl.
If the boy apprehends any such event or danger from that girl side, then he may issue a legal notice to that girl stating that it will not be possible for him to marry her since the horoscope do not match hence she should not disturb him anymore in this regard and also he would not be responsible if she decides to end her life due to this.
A copy of this notice may be endorsed to the nearest police station also for information.
This is just a precautionary measure and not that this can prevent any danger as anticipated.

- As you have stated that they have not intimated and this is the only point which can save your friend.
- You please ask him to save any message or something in audio in which she also says yes to it (about not been physical).
- But, yes this is also right that if she happens to do any such act then at least for initial time your friend will be in legal battle.
