You father has to sign the Descriptive Rolls Annexures Forms which is about 3-4 pages Needed For Pensions and nominations.

Was he working in the prison department?
At the time of retirement he may have to comply with lot of formalities so that he can get uninterrupted pension lifelong and also your mother can get family pension after his lifetime.
Is he having any problem to submit the requisite forms?
He can take assistance from any senior employee retired from that department recently in this regard.
Since he was working in the prison department, he may have to comply with the necessary formalities as per rule and law in this regard.
