A Custom Software Development agreement is an agreement between a customer and software developer whereby the software developer will create software according to specifics provided by the customer. The contract does not need to apply for registration.

The stamp duty to be paid differs from state to state. But the agreement can be made and it has to be registered with the registrar. 2 witnesses are needed for this. A representative of the other party is also needed.

The stamp duty is the state subject which may be enquired in the local registrar's office.

The agreement may be registered or otherwise, however it may depend on the value of the agreement.
