It is suggested that you change name after marriage. For this normal procedure is to have an affidavit and then publication in newspaper. After this, you may change name in all the documents.
Name change after marriage
I am a half-Hindu-Muslim groom and my bride is pure Hindu. We need to change her name to a neutral name that can be used in both religions so that we do not face any backlash from our respective communities. Since our Muslim relatives have been supporting my parents, we are obliged to keep relations with them. Of course, we as a family follow both religions since we were raised as such and will continue to do so. What is the procedure for this and can the name change be done before or after the marriage? If after the marriage, can the marriage certificate be updated with the new name? What are the other areas/documents that needed to be updated with the new name an its procedures as well? She can apply to collector office for name Change, better get it change before marriage otherwise further complications will arise for name change in M Certi.
All she need age proof and address proof.
You have to follow a name change procedure as applicable in India and the name should be published in the official gazette of the central government it is not possible while staying in Bahrain
1) Yes, you can change name after marriage, you will get name change certificate. This can be done to change PAN and AADHAAR card etc
2) In marriage certificate it won't be possible to change it once it has been issuef to you.
Sir for name change a name change affidavit has to be made, then information regarding name change has to be published in two local newspapers.
Further when that is complete with copy of affidavit and newspaper cutting and appropriate fee send it to Department of Publication government of India, name shall stand changed on that and same shall be notified in gazette of India.
You can make name change after marriage but it would be better you do it prior to registration.
Further you can take a copy of gazette and based on that application of name change can be preferred before different authorities for name change like for passport PAN, adhaar.

She is required to execute before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate affirming that she hereby and hereafter has changed her name from her present name to her selected name and she will be henceforth be known as per her selected name for which all her educational and other statutory documents are required to be amended and issued afresh
2. Based on the said affidavit she can marry you by registering her marriage duly showing her name as the selected name and also can file application before her educational boards to change her name based on the copy of the affidavit enclosed therewith and issue the certificates afresh.
1. There is no restrictions to change name at any point of time and if you wish the use the new name in the marriage registrar then you will have to do this before registration of marriage. otherwise at any point of time subsequently.
2. So make an affidavit stating your name and get it affirmed from the court of a Magistrate and then make gazette or newspaper publication.

1. What is 'half Hindu-Muslim'? Law recognizes someone as a complete Muslim or Hindu, not a mixture of two. Your bride will be free to take any name after marriage. If she changes her name then she should execute an affidavit sworn before a notary public and then make a publication to this effect in a national and regional newspaper.
2. After the newspaper publication is done she should apply for incorporation of her new name in all her documents of identity and residence.
3. She is free to change her name before or after marriage. Better change the name before marriage.
There is no provision in law to mandatorily change the name after the marriage, be it inter religion marriage or the change of maiden name of the wife after her marriage.
You can decide about changing the name at your convenience, there is no hard and fast rules or any particular law governing your situation.
