• Is gazette suffice to appear in UGC NET exam in case of name change? Or need updated marksheets?

I have changed my name recently in all documents like Aadhar, pan, passport etc. via official gazzette. Now I am planning to appear in UGC NET exam. Do I need to change my name in all my degrees from 10 to post graduation or gazzette and other docs would suffice??

if you wish you can change name in certificate by applying to individual boards though cbse allows only upto 10 year from date of issue to amend name or any other details.

Further without change you are eligible by support of gazette notification along with Sworn affidavit newspaper notice cutting along with identity cards with changed names so you do not need to change mark sheets.

Gazette is proof of name change from the day it is published so it is not required to get previously obtained documents name change by help of gazette notification you can update your service record.

Write a letter or you can find form which is more or less similar to letter addressed to the Regional P F Commissioner.:

You can request the name change in your UAN citing the reason, enclosing copy of gazette notification and a valid ID in which name has already been change.

The letter shall be signed by both employee and employer “Joint declaration by the member and the employer.”

Also if you have received updated Adhaar card and you have linked same with PF account than you can do it online too.

Gazette and your updated Aadhar will suffice.

Having said that, if they raise an objection at any point of time, you may give an affidavit to the effect that your name has been changed.

1) Once the old name is registered in the educational certificates from SSC to graduation, it wont get changed as the records are past dated.

2) In UGC NET Exam you can apply as per your new name and show the gazette as suffice.

3) Regarding apply new name in the Provident Fund, you should apply first change in the name in your office and HR, get your name changed on payroll. As you have change name in all documents like PAN, Aadhar etc. and tell your HR to approve your new name when you apply on online Provident fund site, after that Provident fund officer will change your name in Passbook of Provident Fund.

It is not necessary to change the name in the educational certificates.

You can keep the affidavit and the publication publishing the name change along with your certificate, so that you won't find problem in this regard anywhere.
