• Name difference in educational qualification and OBC certificates

Dear sir,
I have a query related to my name difference in educational qualification and obc certificate, I am soon going to join a Central Government Job. my actual Full name is “YELLAPU SURYA PRABAKAR RAO”, my surname is “yellapu”, but in my educational 10th,12th and degree certificates it is printed as “YELLAPUSURYA PRABAKAR RAO” with no space between surname “Yellapu” and first name “surya”.
I belong to OBC Caste GAVARA community which is in OBC Central list.
I took OBC certificate as “yellapu surya prabhakar rao”, with space provided. The revenue officals denied to give OBC as per my 10th certificate. As my Surname “YELLAPU” will be in GAVARA community but not “YELLAPUSURYA” will it be a problem because of name difference at the time of document verification or police verification or obc certificate verification by GOVT DEPARTMENT through local revenue officials.?
Actually i thought of changing my obc as per 10th but the revenue officals told, for obc their will see surname whether it is in community, caste list or not. my surname yellapu is in gavara caste and which is in obc central list, if i change my obc as per 10th certificate a new surname yellapusurya will form which is not in gavara caste in obc central list. And the revenue officials also denied to give as per my 10th certificate. what to do sir??
And also I would like to know the verification of OBC CERTIFICATE from my Govt Department by local revenue officals. Whether they will check only CASTE and Sl. No or they will also check SURNAME..???

1)there is no space between surname “Yellapu” and first name “surya”.

2) you will not face problem in document verification or police verification or OBC verification

3) your surname is in OBC list . you can explain surya is your name and that yellapu is your surname which is reflected in OBC list

4) for verification of OBC certificate it would be checked whether any such certificate has been issued or not and whether your caste falls under OBC list or not

This minor discrepancy in the OBC Certificate and your educational Certificates is not going to cause any difference. At any time there's an objection raised at the time of verification of documents, you can furnish an affidavit saying that two names are one and the same and your name on the OBC Certificate be read as the one described on educational documents.

At the time of verification, only your caste will be checked.

1)you will have to change your x std certificate by obtaining court orders in case department refuses to accept your OBC certificate

2) an affidavit should suffice

Yes you can execute an affidavit and explain your stand at anytime when complication arises.

Be assured, this will work and any case, at any stage you can take recourse to a Legal Proceeding before the High Court to set the things right.

I do not think so that such difference will make any difference, if at any time an objection is raised you may file an affidavit to the extent that two names are of the same person and you may also get the same published in the newspaper.

If at all the same is also not accepted, then you may get the name changed in your Xth certificate. If the High School authorities fail to do so then you may go to the High Court for getting specific direction.

YELLAPUSURYA” will it be a problem because of name difference at the time of document verification or police verification or obc certificate verification by GOVT DEPARTMENT through local revenue officials.?

The space in between Yellapu and Surya is not a change of name and neither it will create any problem while verification, you are worrying unnecessarily about this.

And also I would like to know the verification of OBC CERTIFICATE from my Govt Department by local revenue officals. Whether they will check only CASTE and Sl. No or they will also check SURNAME..???

The verification will be based on the community and the genuineness of the certificate issued by the competent authority. The spelling mistake in the name that was mentioned in the 10 standard certificate will not be taken into consideration and moreover the revenue department will not be having your educational certificate record. This is just misspelling hence nothing to be worried about it.

If at the time of document verification , if they don’t accept and ask me to submit as per 10th certificate to claim OBC reservation, can I change my OBC certificate as per 10th certificate “YELLAPUSURYA” without space and can I submit an AFFIDAVIT explaining the same as my surname is Yellapu and first name is surya but in 10th it is mistakly printed and both the name belong to me, will it not be a problem when Govt dept sends my OBC to local revenue officials. Then when revenue officals see that my SURNAME “YELLAPUSURYA” don’t fall in GAVARA caste in OBC CENTRAL LIST?? What I should do than sir???

First of all you should understand the any verification will be on the basis of the genuineness of the certificate and will not concentrate on the spelling mistake of one document to another.

As a matter of fact your 10th certificate will differ to your 12th certificate, so you may give an affidavit if need be to this effect.
