• Senior citizens harassment by neighbours on a property dispute

My father who is 75 and mother are both senior citizens, they are living in a delhi house which is part of an ongoing property dispute court case. I live in a different city because of work. The opposite party also live in the same house. Since the case has been filed, the opposite party, who are my relatives, have been threatening and harassing my parents on different small pretexts. In one incident a few months back, the son of the opposite party who is 40 pushed my father over some dispute regarding electricity meter and he fell down. He has also issued various threats against my father. Also, one of our bathrooms was damaged and another petty theft incident has happened. I am extremely worried about safety of my parents but not sure what is best way to ensure their safety. Please advise.

Ask your parents to immediate approach the Senior Citizens Tribunal and report the matter by way of lodging a Complaint. This should be done on an urgent basis.

Next time, when this fellow or any one else from their family repeats this behavior, your father should immediately call police by dialling 100.

Hello,

If the case is pending litigation then on the basis of the same you may ask your parents to lodge an FIR an under section 504 and 506.

Also you may ask your parents to install a CCTV camera at that place, that will create some deterrence.

Let me know if I can be on nay help.

If any danger to their lives is apprehended or existing, either they or you can lodge a criminal complaint against the suspected miscreants may be lodged with the nearest police station.

Senior citizens Tribunal will be of no use in this regard since you can't get an immediate relief to this menace.
