Hi! My i got married on September 2016 under special marriage act. Few days after my marriage my huaband became little different. We used to quarrel alot. Den on November i bacame pregnant with his baby.( Ours was love marriage. He is a Christian guy from meghalaya and i am hindu from kolkata.) We were staying in kolkata. On 1 December he left home and without letting me know he went back to his parents house. Few days later he said via sms that he doesnt want to take the responsibility of the baby and doesnt want to come back also. He said that he has been forced for the registry marriage as well for the baby. On September 2016 our marriage happened in the presence of both families including his father who signed as a witness too. At the moment i am seven months pregnant and he is still absconding with his families support. His brother is a civil lawer in meghalaya. He has totally ruined my life. Pls help me. What charges can i apply on him?

1. Do not spare this man who is nothing but crook and must be taught a lesson.
2.Lodge a complaint with the local police u/s 498A IPC.
3. File a case under PWDV Act wherein you can claim monthly maintenance as well damages and compensation.
4. Howeevr do note that this act may ruin your marriage . So think of taking legal action only if the marriage can not be revived by way of negotiation.
You can send him a legal notice informing him that you have been impregnated by him and abandoned you and fled the matrimonial home for the reason that you could not meet his exorbitant demand of dowry and you were left behind to toil alone especially at this advanced stage of pregnancy.
