• Cyber crime investigation

In the year 2012, one of my friend has created an institution email ID (where he work as teacher) to exchange emails from head office. During process, he has mentioned his personal ID and contact number for email recovery. For further assistance, since this email system was pretty knew to the principal he added his email ID in settings as forward a copy(for all the mails).

Now the institution is willing to file cyber crime case against my friend.

So please help me out in this matter asap.

Sharing personal e-mail with the official-mail address is never a crime.

Only in the case of sharing of secret data which is specifically barred to be shared as mentioned in the offer letter such crime can happen.

In this case the Institution is misidrectedtolodge such complaint.

It appears there must be some ongoing dispute between the two as a result of which the employer is trying to blackmail the employee.

The employee must lodge a complaint of criminal intimidation so make his escape reroute.

If your friend has not done any crime by creating an email id for the school and the procedures for that have been followed as per the norms meant for it, what is his concern about the cyber crime complaint.

Has he indulged in any illegal activity by creating this program?

Until there is no illegality in this and also since he had been authorised by the principal for doing this job, let him give a statement to the police accordingly and explain everything in details so that the police also would understand that your friend is innocent of any alleged crime.
