I unknowing cut down the 2 tree in front on my plot on road side. I didnt know that we have to take permission before cutting the tree. Public around the area gathered and threaten to give complaint. Some association leader of layout stepped in and told he will solve outside complaint. Later he asked bribe on 2 Lakh else threatened to file FIR in forest department. I want know what is max fine from forest department if we admit the mistake.

can I my self give a written confession to Forest department ? Is the 10000 fine per tree or overhaul? If i agree to pay the penalty will there is any imprisonment. Do i need to hire a advocate to fight the case.?

You don't need to hire an advocate
2) in case any complaint is lodged plead guilty and pay the fine imposed
3) there would not be any imprisonment
1. Do not worry this is not a criminal case.
2. At the most the civic authority can impose a fine but you can not be imprisoned for sure.
3. So do not give any bribe to him and plaint two other tress which would save you form future penal actions if any.

You need not look for favors from such favor mongers or anti social elements.
Let them go and make a complaint about this to anyone, you may give an explanation and also pay the fine to the government if you have been held liable for this act.
Such type of idiots only spoil the society, dont encourage them.

Do not voluntarily go to teh forest department with your guilt.
Let them initiate any action after receiving any complaint in this regard.
You can pay the fine at that time when you are summoned and informed about the fine amount for this act.
1. If you give a written confession it would be the last nail in your coffin. So instead of paying 2 lakhs to this man you should tell them to lodge the complaint against you and you can contest it on merits.
2. Engage a lawyer beforehand in case you are required to apply for bail.
