See seniority shall be decided from the date of the appointment. The reservation candidates even your marks are higher shall be above in list.
Seniority issue
Sir/Madam, I xyz appointed as group A officer by upsc from waiting list with in a year. There 14 posts-8 gen 4 obc sc1 st 1. Initially 14 candidates recommend according reservation. 8 place candidate recommend under general category but not joined and I am in waiting list 1 and get the call and joined but my Mark's are above 9-14 selected candidates. Now, what is my seniority rank 9 or 15 sir/madam? Kindly help.

Marks in the examination appointment is not considered for the seniority but the date of joining is taken as the seniority

As the rule in vouge, your seniority rank is 15.
Dear client,
Seniority will consider acc. To merit. Doesn't matter you are appointed from waiting list.
If they have not joined then your rank will be upgraded.
Your seniority will be counted from the date of your appointment and not as per your recruitment rankings.
