• Date of birth discrepancy in passport vs all other legal documents

My original date of birth is 2 Sep 1988. This was recorded in the Municipal Corporation Record of Births.
When my parents wanted to get me in school, a new date of birth was recorded in the Municipal Corporation as 2 Sep 1989. This date of birth has been used in all my documents till date, viz school certificates, college degree, PAN card, Aadhar card, bank records etc.
However, unaware, I also had 2 passports made; one with DOB as 2 Sep 1988 and another with 2 Sep 1989. This was in the days when the Passport system was not computerized. Unfortunately, the one with DOB as 2 Sep 1988 was never cancelled. Thus 2 active passports with 2 different DOBs with all other details the same existed. When the one with DOB 2 Sep 1989 went to get renewed, the Passport Authority detected this discrepancy and impounded both the passports.
The Passport Office referred the matter to the Corporation who replied back stating that 2 birth records also exist here.
I would like to know:
1. What needs to be done to get my Corporation DOB fixed as 2 Sep 1989, which is present in all my other documents.
2. If not option 1, how will I go about changing all my documents from 1989 to 1988. Is it possible to just get my Birth Certificate and Passport changed and then carry an affidavit to state this fact?
3. I may have to travel internationally for work. Will a Birth Certificate and Passport of one DOB and and an affidavit to support the change for all other docs suffice?

Keeping two passports at the same time is a criminal offence and a case can be registered against the person under the Passport Act

2) your second birth certificate is fraudulent

3) your second birth certificate would have to be cancelled by making application to registrar of birth

4) passport office would be reluctant to issue you new passport and would prosecute you

5) you would need court orders to direct passport office to issue you passport in case any criminal cases are filed against you

You have to get your date of birth declared by the competent authority as per the original date of birth as recorded in the register for births and deaths.

After this you may have to apply for fresh passport giving the correct details of date of birth with a authenticate documentary proof.

The educational certificates cannot be rectified at this stage however an affidavit duly attested can be attached to these document to prove the correct date of birth.
