Compromise the matter out of court by paying a compensation. If the court convicts you then it may seriously jeopardize your career prospects as a conviction from a court of law disqualifies an individual from applying for jobs, in addition to availing many more services such as passport, etc. Let your lawyer frame a deed of compromise.
Dog hitting
I am dragged to court for hitting Dog. Chargesheet has been filed under 11(1) k of 1960 I dont want to go into long court proceeding. My job involves too much travelling Should i accept and end the matter ? Any issue in accepting this? Also what will happen if Dog dies later and these guys again file complaint against me that this death happened because of this hitting

I am told by lawyers that under this i have to pay fine and cases closes. They say it is similar to one being caught for wrong parking

I quoting section under which only fine is to be paid and also no criminal record is generated which can effect Job or Passport applicaion etc "The Act, prohibits the infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering on an animal and makes such unnecessary pain and suffering a penal offence. Sub- section (3) of section 11 PCA says that it is the duty of every person having the care and charge of any animal to take all reasonable measure to ensure the well being of such animal and to prevent the infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering. The penalty under this Act is, the offender (in the case of a first offence) will have to pay fine which shall extend to fifty rupees and if it is the case of second offence or subsequent offence committed within three years of the previous offence, he will be fined with not less than twenty-five rupees but which may extend to one hundred rupees or with the imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with both. Also, in the case of second offence, the offender’s vehicle is confiscated, and he will never be allowed to keep an animal again."
