• Someone else claiming ownership over my registered agri land

I have recently bought an agri land in tamilnadu. Im the 4th person buying the land as per EC records from the previous owner, the original documents can be traced upto 1975 but there is no partition deed details. All of the sudden someone coming and claiming that it was ancestral property and not divided properly, he claims he is grand son of one of the first brother who owned this property jointly with second brother. He claims that the second brother did UDR many years back and registered the land in his name and subsequently sold it. So his claim is that, as a grand son of first brother he equally owns share in this property and will not let me do anything in that land. I have joint patta in my name for the land I bought. please help me with how to deal with it.

1. Mere claim is not enough.

2. it is not clear how many papers does he have to support his claim.

3. The Patta would work in your favour.

4.This person even of some share would be from old devolution of property which is not so easy for him to lay his claim.

5. Now since you have bought the property without notice of this fact you are bona fide owner.

6. In that event continue your possession and let him run around court to prove his share.

7.If you have nothing to do for the time being.
